Man, overall this album is just bringing funkiness with melodies and scratches, and it's got surprises on it. These tracks were produced mostly in 2019 and 2020. Unorthodox is regular for me but beyond the surprises, it's just a solid album with a variety of styles under one umbrella.
Scratching and cutting is fundamental for me. I gotta have it and that's what I grew up with as far as hiphop and there's no point where that's not an element. Whether it's scratching I do manually myself or even done through software, long as I keep it funky. Don't turn your back on the technology. All of it is technology anyway, even before FL Studio it's not like you were not using technology. I keep my ear and talent at the center of all this but it's fresh to use the technology.
The cover features OKC's Steven Adams and HOU's Patrick Beverly, after Beverly crashed into a screen set by Adams. Same as the point of the album: that when you least expect it, WHAM you can get a screen set on you and it will put you on the on the floor, you know what I'm saying. So that's what this album does as far as beats and music and funk but life does that too.
I dropped this in 2021 after a crazy 2020 (and 2019 really)and that's what the cover of the album is about.
And notice all the people on the sidelines, shocked that Adams knocked him to the ground. The screen was set and WHAM, you know. When you run into the screen that's what happens. You end up on the floor but that's because you're following the ball. Get up and keep playing. You will score.
